How do I determine my battery type?
Here is a comprehensive document for all Honda NiMH battery types. It also provides directions on where to find the identifiable stickers.
What if I have a CA4 battery?
There are two options, we can either swap the computer out for one that is compatible with our replacement battery for $200, or you can take your vehicle to the dealership to get reprogrammed to battery code CA1. We will have the computer on hand if we are installing the battery if you are not sure what type you will have. WARNING! If the computer is not swapped and you plan on driving to the dealership to reprogram, the 12V battery will not be recharged during the drive and you will risk being stranded. It will be similar to driving with a bad alternator, the 12V will slowly loose power and eventually die. The IMA, CEL, and 12V battery light will be on.
